"Creamed" Cabbage Gratin

Ingredients

2 qt. Savoy cabbage, quartered, cored and thinly sliced
1/8 cups Ground nutmeg
1/8 cups Caraway seed
1/4 cups Fresh chives, finely chopped

Preparation Steps
  • Add
    Cabbage to pan of boiling water; blanch 20 sec. Drain cabbage; place in medium bowl. all remaining ingredients except chives; mix well. Spoon about 2 cups (500 mL) cabbage mixture into each of 24 small casserole dishes sprayed with cooking spray (or into 1 casserole dish for trial recipe).
  • Bake
    In 350ºF (180ºC) standard oven 40 min. or until cabbage mixture is heated through. Place under broiler; broil until golden brown. Garnish each with 1/4 tsp. (1 mL) chives.
