Chocolate Stout "Cupcakes" with Philly Buttercream Frosting

Moist malty-flavoured chocolate cups enhanced with stout beer are topped with a tangy cream cheese frosting and served in a stout glass.

Ingredients

Cupcakes
1 qt. Chocolate cake mix
1-1/2 qt. Stout beer
Cream Cheese Frosting
1/4 cups Powdered sugar
3/4 cup Vanilla

Instructions

Preparation Steps
  • Prepare
    Cake mix for standard cupcakes as directed on package for water-only directions, substituting beer for the water. Cool completely.
  • Beat
    Cream cheese, chocolate, sugar and vanilla with electric mixer fitted with paddle attachment. Spoon into pastry bag.
  • Remove
    Cupcakes from paper liners and push 2 Cupcakes into each 8-oz. (250-mL) stout glass or mason jar. Top with about 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) Cream Cheese Frosting.
